Jamie Garner is the director of mathematics at the Stanislaus County Office of Education. She has a BA in Liberal Studies, an MA in Curriculum and Instruction, both with a focus on elementary education, and holds both California teaching and administrative credentials. During her 12 years in the classroom, she taught Kindergarten, 1st and 6th grades in many settings, including charter, public, and magnet schools. Jamie was named as the Stanislaus County Teacher of the Year in 2013 and awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching in 2012. She is passionate about teaching, math, and teaching math and is an advocate for equitable access to high quality math instruction for ALL students.
